I believe that jazz should always blend the skills of the musicians along with the emotional hunger of the audience. It
should instill visions of romance, heartbreak, passion, walks in the park, sunny beaches, rainy days, a sense of wonder,
innocence and all the other fantasies and/or real life experiences that are common to all people. It should be a
conversation where the audience should at some point during the performance say "yeah...I've been there or would
like to be". Listeners should go home feeling like they traveled to their inner self although they were in a crowded
room. After all, that is what art should do for us, always in a positive way.
The jazz musician tells these stories in their own dialect and accent and still have the conversation be engaging to
others. This is my musical goal. So check the music out!
